Top Things To Do In Mui Ne, Vietnam

by Tasha Amy @ Backpackers Wanderlust

Mother Natures Perfect Creation, Mui Ne The reason I fell in love with the wide variety of landscapes and things to do in Mui Ne. It is on the main tourist trail in Vietnam, though unless you are 100% confident on a motorbike I would recommend only spending one full day exploring the area. The reason why is that the majority of these things can be done on a tour. The majority of hostels and travel agencies will hold twice a day tours to all the highlights, this means to can tick off the top things to do in Mui Ne relatively quickly. Even better is that these tours are incredibly affordable, I booked my sunrise tour with Mui Ne Backpackers Village and it only cost $7.00 / 160,000 VND! How I Book Cheap Transport In Vietnam: Baolau.com Where To Stay In Mui Ne? In Mui Ne I recommend booking your accommodation on the main road which runs alongside the coast. This will keep you in close distance to many excellent attractions and delicious restaurants. Here are my top picks for accommodation in Mui Ne: Find the best hotels in the area Mui Ne Backpacker Village The ultimate backpackers paradise […]

6 Things I Have Learned From Traveling Europe

by Jacklynne @ Hungary – Jacklynne.com

It’s been a week since I got back from the Philippines after my 2-month trip in Europe. The trip did not only change my life completely but I have learned a lot of life lessons from this travel. I know that you guys are so, so sick of my everyday drama telling you how I am so blessed and this whole trip was a miracle because I am self-made. It’s true, though. If you were in my position, you’d understand. I don’t know what I did in my life to be this blessed! That’s why I am sharing you this blog post about the things I have learned from this travel. 1. It’s okay to not be a solo traveler and to join a group tour With my amazing friends around the world traveling Europe, sharing loves and laughs Believe it or not, there are some blogs who are shaming other travellers saying that you are not a legit traveller unless you are a solo backpacker and I believe that is a huge BS. As long as you are traveling and appreciating the places you go, YOU ARE A TRAVELLER. I didn’t have anything planned when I first came to […]

Motorbike Diaries, Vietnam – A Drive To the Hai Van Pass, Monkey Pass & Danang

by Reshma @ The Solo Globetrotter

First of all, let me tell you how the Hai Van Pass drive came on my radar during my travel in Vietnam. I love driving motorbikes. I hate the traffic and also cars, but I don’t mind them as long as I am perched on a motorbike. When I had to drop my initial thoughts of traveling entire Vietnam by renting or buying a bike, I opted for renting motorbikes in every place. I was not contented with the short drives that I got in every place, and I was looking for something bigger. I was in Hoi An when I first got to know about the passes that are along the coast and the fact that they are quite popular among the bikers. I had hit a jackpot! I wasted no time and inquired about Hai Van Pass in the hostel that I stayed. They arrange bike tours from Hoi An to Hue, where you get to drive the Hai Van Pass stretch on the bike that you rent that you can return once you reach Hue. For an additional 50,000 VND, they also carry one backpack to Hue that you can collect in Hue. I wanted to do this stretch […]

Snorkeling in Nha Trang with Vietnam Snorkeling Tours

by Tasha Amy @ Backpackers Wanderlust

An Under Water  World With Vietnam Snorkeling… Nha Trang no doubt is a tourist hub in Vietnam, with a lot more of a Western influence than other areas of the country. Most signs and menus are in Vietnamese or Russian, and unfortunately for me I speak neither of these languages. This promoted me to jump online to search the generic ‘what to do in nha trang’, of course the typical hire a beach chair, visit Vinpearl, came up. Though, what truly caught my eye was the chance to go snorkeling in Nha Trang. A tour with Vietnam Snorkeling popped up, and after reading some reviews and seeing what my hostel said about it I decided to go ahead and book. Side note- book online as prices are generally cheaper than booking through your hostel as they will be earning a commission, this was the case for me anyway. How I Book Cheap Transport In Vietnam: Baolau.com Where To Go Snorkeling In Nha Trang? Lucky for ocean lovers like me, Nha Trang has over 12,00 hectares of official marine reserve. This coral filled area is known as Hon Mun Marine Protected Area and is where you will visit if you are […]

Dalat – Of Waterfalls & Lakes In The Chic Hill Station Of Vietnam

by Reshma @ The Solo Globetrotter

‘I have had bad bus rides during my travels, but this is the worst bus ride I have ever had!’ frowned Jessica, the girl from Amsterdam next to me on the bus, headed from Mui Ne to Dalat on a rainy afternoon. I smiled listening to her exasperated rant about the drive, as our laggard driver rode the bus on a road that was similar to her mood. Even a seasoned traveler can be put off on his or her journey. No matter how much you love to travel or even if wanderlust is your ‘passion’, travel can rub off even the best of us. Jessica was having one such moment. I switched the topic to Amsterdam, her city, and the lovely country of Netherlands, which seemed to work. Her mood shifted and a broad smile with a tinge of pride beamed on her face as she talked about how beautiful Amsterdam is and how much she loved her hometown. The chit-chat continued for a long time, which was a welcoming change to both of us who wanted a distraction. After what seemed like forever, we were in the city of Dalat around 5:30 PM. I quickly reached by backpack to find […]

Hue – Discovering A Slice of China in Vietnam

by Reshma @ The Solo Globetrotter

I had only seen the bright red murals, walls and series of dragons with many heads with intimidating large heads only in pictures, and its closely replicated forms in some Chinese restaurants that I had visited. But here I was, standing in front of one of the large dragons that flanked the stairs in Hue (pronounced Hu-way), Vietnam, and I was sure of only one thing – That these imperial characteristics looked beautiful in person, and uniquely mystic. After witnessing the various versions of this country called Vietnam, I was in Hue in central Vietnam, which was recovering from the effects of a storm that flooded Hue’s neighbours including Danang, Nha Trang and Hoi An. Hue – The Imperial Capital City of Vietnam Hue was the capital of the imperial Nguyen dynasty, that last ruling kingdom of Vietnam for 143 years. The Nguyen empire has its roots in China, and the history of this city dates back to the days before Vietnam was born, i.e, when it was a part of China. Did you know that the country attained the name ‘Vietnam’ under this dynasty? Nguyen was the most powerful kingdom that ruled the country for the longest period during […]
