Waterbom Waterpark in Bali [Asia’s #1 Waterpark]
by Jo @ Wander With Jo
Mon Jan 15 01:26:24 PST 2018
I always feel I am a kid at heart and age is just a number. So while traveling; amusement / water parks are always on my list. With a tag of being the #1 water park in Asia, Waterbom, Bali was hence, on my radar. With incessant rains for the past two days, it was difficult to even fathom driving over an hour towards Kuta where the water park is located from our lovely villa in Canggu. Luckily, after almost two gloomy days, the sun shone bright and we headed towards Kuta. First Impressions of Waterbom, Bali Located right next to the busy Kuta coastline, Warerbom, Bali does not look that imposing from the outside. Upon entering the premises, it was quite a nice view from the parking area itself. The entrance to the park is through the main counter for purchasing tickets and Christmas being around the corner, the mood was quite festive. Once done with the formalities of getting the tickets and wristbands with money loaded onto it (no cash/card accepted inside the park), we were off towards the lockers and changing area for a fun filled experience ahead. Although the ticket counter was not too crowded, it [...]

Pantai Pandawa (Aka Pandawa Beach) BALI
by Guest Blogger @ Wander With Jo
Tue Jan 09 06:22:27 PST 2018
This is a guest post by Diganto Ozzy of WanderWithOzzy coz this is one of the beaches of Bali that I managed to miss in my quest to see all. I am going back though, so surely will cover tons more 🙂 For now, here’s an introduction to Pantai Pandawa (Aka Pandawa Beach). Pandawa Beach was, until a few years ago was a hidden and secret beach, that was very difficult to access due to its location in the deep valley and surrounded by the white stone cliff. People had to go through small steps down on the cliff with dangerous valley underneath and the only local people who could access the beach were fishermen and seaweed farmer. The scene at Pantai Pandawa has completely changed over the years since locals have come together to construct roads by sculpting through the cliffs and is now accessible to everyone. Well paved road that has been constructed with utmost attention to make sure it is a smooth ride made Pandawa beach jump on the Bali beach map. Although the parking charge at IDR 15ooo is a tad high compared to other beaches, the area is still developing, so it might take a while [...]

Unforgettable Experience at Novotel Lombok Resort & Villas
by Jo @ Wander With Jo
Tue Jan 23 23:17:34 PST 2018
Last week in Lombok was simply amazing. So much so that I am going back again in two days. We were staying at one of the prettiest properties on the island – Novotel Lombok, which totally enhanced our experience. Lombok is barely a 30 minute boat ride away from Gili Trawangan (where we went to kick start 2018), so getting there is really easy. The local boat made sure that my friends and I reached Bangsal harbour within time and swiftly, found a local taxi that was willing to ferry us to the hotel at a reasonable cost of IDR 300000. A beautiful 2 hours and 30 minute drive through some amazing landscapes interrupted only by torrential downpour couldn’t dampen my spirits. With hilly roads for the initial portion of the journey, followed by wide open roads and wider intersections it was quite revealing to see that Lombok is still an island but with all the facilities. Although it is quite big in size as compared to Gili where the only modes of transport are bicycles and horse carts, it was a humbling experience for sure. First look at Novotel Lombok Resort & Villas Novotel Lombok Upon arrival at the [...]
