Always keep in mind that all our tours and/or proposals can be customized before and during the journey, taking into account road and weather conditions as well as your riding ability and changes in your expectations. Information The webmasters at Offroad Vietnam work around the clock to upload the latest information about travelling in Vietnam, tours with places still available. We own a really big database of over 150 tours and thousands of photos and video shot on the roads which enable us to design and send you a virtual tour shortly we receive your inquiry. We also provide free broadband Internet access and photo burning on CDs or DVDs to our clients. All the photos will be backed up on our hard disk and you can get them back anytime if you lose your camera or your memory card is lost or damaged. Itinerary: Biking Siem Reap
Date: 30th Dec - 31st Dec, 2014
Nationality: British

Hi Candy,

We had two great days of cycling with Mr. Siya.  He met us promptly in the morning and we had two busy days!  Our first day included visiting Angkor Wat and two other temples.  The cycling was really interesting through the forest, on paths, on the Angkor Wat temple wall and roads.  We had a nice lunch at a local restaurant and healthy snacks along the route.

Today we went out in the country side and cycled on secondary roads.  Our tour included end a boat ride to a floating village.  We enjoyed the opportunity to see the 'real' Cambodia.

We were well taken care of and enjoyed our tour.

Thanks for all of your help with organizing the tour and making it happen!

Happy New Year!

Thanks,

Lauren

Helen O'Brien * 2 pax | Sapa | Vietnam

by noreply@blogger.com (Active Travel Asia) @ Travel Reviews | Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos Tours

Itinerary: Sapa Long Trails
Date: Apr 1 - Apr 9, 2012
Nationality: Britain - United Kingdom

We booked the Sapa Long Trek with Active Travel Vietnam with an additional 2 days visiting the markets at Can Cau and Bac Ha. The whole trip was excellent and I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed at 4 different homestays which were like camping barns - comfortable mattresses, clean and warm bedding, and mosquito nets. All homestays had showers with hot water. The food was brilliant and abundant, with non-meat options provided for my partner, and quantities of homemade rice wine at 3 of them.
Our guide, Mr Loi, was excellent and, being from the Tay ethnic minority group himself, very informative about local customs and traditional.

The walking was through lovely scenery and interesting villages, covering a good cross-section of the local ethnic groups. The distances were definitely shorter than in the brochure - I would guesstimate 15km maximum as opposed to the 23km advertised.

It was a long drive between Sapa and Can Cau so that we arrived towards the end of the market but still in plenty of time to people-watch. This and Bac Ha market the following day are principally for the local themselves with only a minority of stalls selling tourist trinkets. They are mainly used by the Flower Hmong ethnic group who are beautifully dressed and take being photographed with a good humor.

Itinerary: Hanoi City Tour - Sapa - Trekking Fansipan (Heaven Gate) - Kayaking Halong Bay & Trekking Cat Ba national park - Biking Mai Chau & Ninh Binh
Date: 14th Dec - 30th Dec, 2014
Nationality: Australian

Dear Candy,

We are now home and feeling well refreshed from our wonderful holiday in Vietnam. Thank you for the really great work you did organising and coordinating our holiday. It really was one of our best holidays ever and we can t thank you enough for all you and our lovely guides did to give us such a great time. It was the perfect balance of activity and relaxation, travelling and staying in one place, time to ourselves and time with others.
Just perfect. You really did a fantastic job and we are so grateful that we used you and Active Travel to put our holiday together. We have already been recommending you to friends and family her in Perth.

More specifically, we thought you might like some specific feedback on the things we were particularly impressed by and maybe a few things that perhaps could be improved slightly (these are very few as 90%of the trip was outstanding).

We especially loved:
-The Medallion Hotel in the old quarter- a very high quality hotel with excellent, caring staff and so well located for exploring Hanoi and the Old Quarter ( we would definitely stay there again), -The City tour the first day was a fantastic introduction to Vietnam and Hanoi, -The lunch the first day in the restaurant was really lovely, -The coffee in the little old quarter cafe with other guides was great fun and helped us feel like a Vietnamese person and not a tourist !
- the water puppets were well worth seeing,
- we were very impressed Candy that you personally came to meet us in our
hotel- a lovely touch,
-The train to Sapa was remarkably comfortable and we loved the experience,
- the hotel in Sapa was excellent and we would happily stay there again, -Walking in Sapa and the surrounds was a real highlight,
- Our porters and guide up and down Mt Fansipan did a brilliant job and also cooked some delicious meals,
- having the rooms to shower, rest and have breakfast in at La Rosa was fantastic and so well organised, -Halong Bay was outstanding and even more beautiful than we thought it would be, -The accommodation on the Junk was very comfortable and we thought the cabins were really beautiful, -Extending our stay in the area with extended days kayaking and visiting Cat BA island was one of the best parts of our whole trip. We would highly recommend it to other tourists.
-The kayaks were excellent quality and the places we were taken to kayak were very well chosen as we really felt well away from many tourist groups, -The bikes we used for cycling were excellent and top quality, -Home stays were fantastic and having two very different home stays was a great experience, as the more basic first one gave us a chance to really see how the locals lived and the second one was lovely and luxurious in a pretty valley, near Mai Chau
- the food throughout our trip was amazingly good and of a very high standard ( except for breakfast in Ninh Binh...see below) -Our bus drivers were excellent and drove very safely and well, -Our three guides all were very informative and went out of their way to give us a perfect holiday. They were all excellent however, we would particularly like to commend Hoa, our last guide who well and truly gave 110% service to us and also combined it with excellent English, a great sense of humour and outstanding care for us all right to the end of our trip. He is a truly magnificent guide and we feel very lucky to have enjoyed his services for so many days.

Here are just a few suggestions of things that could perhaps be improved:
-Before future tourists book to climb Mt Fansipan, I think it would be helpful to warn them that a  cable car is currently being built and therefore it is a bit of building site in places on the mountain and not very picturesque near the top. There are also periodic explosions heard on the mountain and lots of workers working there so it is not as peaceful as a usual mountain climb.
- Also, I think future tourists should be warned that the hut/ accomodation where one sleeps on the mountain is very basic, very noisy and the toilets are very dirty and unhygienic ( as they do not seem to be cleaned regularly and were filthy)
- The hotel in Ninh Binh, was our least favourite as it had little atmosphere ( more like a bed factory!) and the breakfast included stale bread, cold cooked food and sickly fruit drinks ( not juices). Our son also subsequently got food poisoning from eating an egg at breakfast there on our last day. Fortunately, he has fully recovered now.

In conclusion, we had a brilliant holiday and definitely want to return to Vietnam again and will be very pleased to use Active Travel again for our next trip.

Many thanks to you and all your staff.

Kind regards,
Clare, Phil, James and Phoebe Blaxill

Itinerary: Son Doong Cave Discovery
Date: Apr 1 - Apr 3, 2013
Nationality: German

Dear Candy,
I would like to send you big thanks that you take care of my questions, problems and booking since last August. From the first inquiry, until the tour everything was handled in a very professional manner and to my fullest satisfaction. You surprise me one more time, as you are the first travel agent who call me after the tour to ask, if everything was ok.

Even the tour themselves was handled very professionally from our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Mr. Thang. He led us together with our always helpful and smiling porters through the jungle of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The trekking with its breaks was quite comfortable and in the same time stunning. Once we reached En Cave our crews set up the tent and make us feel like home.

In the next day we make our way to Son Doong Cave together with Mr. Thang, Mr. Ho-Khanh and two supporters. It was a unique and unforgettable experience for my wife and me, which we are still talking about.

On the next morning we start our hike back to the meeting point where our driver picked us up. Everything was perfectly timed and we never had the feeling that anything run out of control.
We are looking forward to try another tour with ActiveTravel Asia; maybe you can recommend me one ;)
Best Regards
Boris

Itinerary: Kayaking Halong Bay & Trekking Cat Ba National Park, Vietnam
Date: Sep 24 - Oct 06, 2012

We planned our trip from Australia over the internet. It was for 10 people with varying dietary needs and physical abilities. Ms Candy was fantastic, responding to my emails promptly and leaving us in no doubt as to how much each leg of the journey would cost and what would be provided. The hotels were clean, spacious and comfortable and of the Vietnamese culture as we wanted them to be. The guides were knowledgeable and caring both in Sapa and Halong Bay. The boat provided for our accommodation on Halong Bay was luxurious and the food was stunning. The decoration of the salads and "flowers" made out of carrots and potatoes were really something. We were taken on a fabulous tour of Halong Bay and because we stayed a bit longer than most and also stayed on Cat Ba Island for 2 nights, we saw quite a bit more than the usual tourist spots. Fabulous, relaxing and at a good price. All 10 of us were agreed that you couldn't go past Active Travel Asia for organizing a tour within Vietnam.

by noreply@blogger.com (Steve Bruce) @ Travel Reviews | Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos Tours

Itinerary: Tailor made tour in Vietnam
Date: Mar 3 - Mar 25, 2013
Nationality: American

We are very happy with the service that ACTIVETRAVEL ASIA provided. Our consultant, Candy, listened to our goals and provided a comprehensive program that achieved our travel goals. In addition, Candy was very prompt, courteous, and professional in all of the replies.

We enjoyed Hanoi and North Vietnam the most because we were able to see the day-to-day routines of Vietnamese people.  Trekking near Sapa was peaceful, homestays were very interesting, Halong Bay was gorgeous, and motorbiking was fun. Quyen Vu was our favorite guide because his English was excellent, and he was very patient, happy, and professional. We also enjoyed the bicycling and boating in the Mekong Delta area.

Thanks again for arranging such a wonderful tour!

The cabins on the junk were great, the food on board was superb and it allowed us to try a great variety of local dishes. Pour nos guides, chaque voyage est une nouvelle découverte et une chance de se faire des amis et tisser des relations qui à la fin est une valeur ajoutée pour l’ensemble du trajet. Itinerary: Tailor made tour in Vietnam

Good Morning Ms. Candy,

We are now home and remembering our wonderful visit to Vietnam and Cambodia. The experience was so large that it will take months for us to fully understand and appreciate it all. Our guides and drivers were each unique and individual in their own way. All were professional and made us feel well cared for. Excellent choices! All of your lodging choices were comforting and offered great variety. The restaurant choices for lunch and some dinners was truly a work of art. Beautiful foods, beautiful presentations, excellent service and always different in style. The tour itineraries for the most part were complete, well thought out and well presented by our guides. In all cases, the guides remained flexible to our interests and went out of their way to make our visit special. We appreciated the very active days . . . not for lazy people!  It was a very nice touch for you to remain in contact with us throughout the early parts of the trip. It establishes an elevated sense of trust between the client and agency.

Regarding recommendations, you are already doing a great job. For first time visitors like us, there is much unknown so keep trying to provide as much information as possible. Also, your major strength is the quality and thoroughness of your services. keep stressing that as well as the fact that your tours are "Tailor Made" and private . . . just you, a private guide and private driver/private boat. Individual attention is a real plus. The value in your agency is your ability to help one get the most out of their visit "worry and hassle free" at a fair price. Congratulations!

Our very best regards, David and Kathy

Mike Flood * 16 pax | Northern Vietnam | Vietnam

by noreply@blogger.com (Active Travel Asia) @ Travel Reviews | Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos Tours

Itinerary: Northern Cycling tour
Date: Oct 2 - Oct 13, 2014
Nationality: Australian

Very well organised tour by Candy and she was very quick to rectify problems when they occurred.  Great response by guides, driver and Candy to bicycle accident.  Lap was very popular with the whole group and never failed to be helpful even when very tired or unwell.

The bikes used on the bike tour were excellent and the operator did his best to keep them 100% operational on a daily basis in spite of very rough terrain. Everyone involved was unfailingly courteous and friendly.  A great tour.

I am willing to recommend ACTIVETRAVEL ASIA on Trip Advisor.
